Matt Lopez

Matt relocated to Colorado in 2011 after frequently visiting family here ever since h e was a child. He graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship and small business management with an emphasis in hospitality from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Through his work in the hospitality industry, Matt has learned that businesses need to put an emphasis on the customer’s experience in order to make a mark in the community. It is because of this, that Matt has a passion for including holistic activities such as, massage, meditation, yoga, fitness and ideally nature into one’s recovery journey.

Addition treatment and recovery services is something near to Matt as 2 of his grandparents suffered from alcoholism and 3 of his cousin’s suffered from a substance use addiction. He is an avid skier, golfer, adventurer, sports enthusiast and dog dad to 2 rescue pups.

Alexa Lord

Clinical Director

I have dedicated my professional career to supporting individuals through their recovery and mental health journeys through compassionate, client-centered care. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in 2007, became licensed as an LPC in 2011, and obtained my LAC license in 2019.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of behavioral health settings that have shaped my approach to treatment and recovery. My experience includes providing in-home family therapy for adolescents, working in residential treatment programs serving youth involved in foster care and criminal justice systems, and serving as a crisis therapist within hospital settings. I have also worked within the prison system as both a therapist and clinical supervisor, as well as in the Aurora Walk-In Crisis Unit and the Crisis Stabilization Unit. For over two years, I have worked at Continuum Recovery Center of Colorado as a Clinical Director and IOP substance use therapist. These experiences have strengthened my belief in meeting clients with empathy, honesty, accountability, and respect while creating a safe environment for healing and growth. My approach focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, and reconnect with their strengths and values throughout the recovery process.

This work is deeply meaningful to me because I believe people are capable of change, healing, and rediscovering purpose even during difficult seasons of life. I value creating authentic connections with clients and helping them feel supported, seen, and encouraged as they work toward healthier lives. Watching clients gain confidence, rebuild relationships, and experience hope in recovery is one of the most rewarding aspects of this work for me.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two sons and my dog, as well as spending time in the mountains, hiking, reading books, exercising, learning, and connecting with friends and family. I value opportunities to recharge through nature, delicious food, mindfulness, and meaningful relationships. I also appreciate humor, creativity, and maintaining balance in life. I believe these personal interests help me stay grounded and allow me to bring warmth, relatability, and authenticity into my work with clients.

Dr. Michelle Tyrus

Program Manager

Dr. Michelle Tyrus earned her Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM) from the University of Phoenix before obtaining her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. Her educational background and clinical experience have shaped a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to working with clients. Dr. Tyrus believes in seeing individuals as people who have experienced challenges rather than defining them by a diagnosis. She is passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, and move toward healing and personal growth.

This work is deeply meaningful to Dr. Tyrus because she has personally witnessed the impact addiction and mental health struggles can have on individuals and families. These experiences have strengthened her empathy and commitment to supporting others in their recovery and healing journey. She strives to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Outside of work, Dr. Tyrus enjoys spending time with her two sons and their family pets, which include two cats and two tarantulas. She loves camping, being outdoors, and finding opportunities to connect with nature and family. Her personal and professional experiences together continue to inspire her dedication to helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Taylor Andrews, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Taylor Andrews is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric care with Continuum Recovery Center. Taylor brings experience across all levels of care, including inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programming, with a focus on collaborative, evidence-based treatment. In addition to medication management, Taylor is passionate about the utilization of TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) and integrated approaches to psychiatric and substance use care. Taylor is licensed in Colorado and committed to accessible, patient-centered care that meets people where they are.

Eric Robinson

Operations Coordinator

Eric was born in Chicago and has lived in several places across the country, including San Antonio and Wilmington, before making Colorado home. His background includes fitness, sales, construction, and management, giving him a well-rounded perspective on people, hard work, and the importance of meeting others where they are.

As a husband and father of two, Eric understands how important stability, support, and connection are in daily life. He enjoys staying active, training Muay Thai, working out, and spending time with his family. Living in Colorado has also given him a strong appreciation for community, movement, and the role that a healthy lifestyle can play in overall well-being.

Through his work in the recovery and behavioral health field, Eric has developed a passion for helping people feel welcomed, supported, and understood from the first point of contact. He believes that recovery can feel overwhelming, especially in the beginning, and that a clear, encouraging, and respectful environment can make a meaningful difference. Eric is committed to helping clients and families feel more comfortable as they take the next step toward healing, growth, and long-term wellness.

Allison Baja

Therapist

Allison Baja, MA, LPCC, LMT, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Massage Therapist. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Colorado, Boulder in 2006 and a Master of Arts in Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University in 2021. Allison received her 1000-hour Massage Therapy certification from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2009 and incorporates somatic, mindfulness-based, and holistic elements into her therapeutic approach.

Allison has provided counseling services in the following environments; In-home Facilities for At-Risk Youth, Hospice Care, Community Mental Health, Affordable Counseling Agencies, Addiction and Recovery Programs, and Private Practice. Allison has her 200-hour yoga instructor certification and is also certified in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy through Journey Clinical. She is supervised at Continuum by Clinical Director, Alexa Lord, LPC, LAC.

Allison has extensive training and experience facilitating groups and offering individual, family, and couples counseling. As someone in recovery herself, Allison finds deep purpose and passion in supporting clients in healing the deep underlying wounds linked to substance use and rediscovering their truest version of self in mind, heart, and spirit. Allison spends her free time hiking, traveling, getting out into nature, enjoying the plethroa of hot springs in Colorado, and snuggling her sweet soul of a Portuguese Water Dog, Piper, who is also the agency’s therapy/emotional support pup.

Teena Manuel

Therapist

Teena is a Denver, Colorado native and currently serves as a Clinical Intern at the recovery center while completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University and has previous experience working with children and families.

Teena is passionate about supporting individuals navigating trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use recovery. Drawing from both her academic training and personal experiences, she believes in creating a compassionate, judgment-free space where clients feel supported in their healing and growth.
Outside of her clinical work, Teena enjoys reading, movies, art, and exploring Denver’s food scene. She lives in Denver with her fiancé and their two cats.

Elizabeth Perlmuter

Peer Support Specialist

Elizabeth was born in Maryland and has spent her years living in Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles prior to calling Colorado home for the past 18 years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Boston University. Her professional background includes more than 25 years in talent acquisition, leadership, and career coaching, where she helped individuals recognize their strengths, navigate change, and build meaningful careers. Today, she brings that same passion for empowering others into the behavioral health and recovery field.

As a Peer Support Specialist, Elizabeth believes that every person’s recovery journey is unique and deserves to be met with compassion, respect, and hope. Drawing from her own lived experience in recovery, she understands the courage it takes to ask for help and the importance of having someone who truly listens without judgment. She is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and encouraged as they work toward their goals.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her dog (Reese), taking walks, yoga, listening to ’80s music, reading, and binge-watching a good television series. She also has a passion for workforce development and helping people discover their strengths, build confidence, and create a life that aligns with their values. She believes recovery is about more than overcoming challenges-it’s about building a fulfilling life with purpose, connection, and hope.

Josh Orrico

Chiropractor

Josh originally grew up in Seattle, Washington, but has spent much of his life in Colorado, with his most recent move back to the state taking place in 2017. He graduated from the university of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor of science degree and has built his career around helping others improve their health and quality of life

As a father of five, Josh staying active and spending time outdoors with his family. He enjoys, hiking, rafting, camping, and taking advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. Whether it is exploring the mountains or planning the next outdoor adventure, he believes movement, connection, and time in nature play an important role in overall well-being.

Having witnessed the impact addiction can have on individuals and families firsthand, Josh understands how challenging the recovery process can be. He is passionate about helping people feel more comfortable, supported, and cared for throughout their journey. Josh believes like creating a positive and encouraging environment can make a meaningful difference for those working toward recovery and Long-term wellness.

Gretchen Seeck

Yoga Instructor

Gretchen, a Wyoming native, has been practicing yoga since 2002. Her practice took a deeper turn as she went into recovery for alcoholism. Since May 26, 2016 she has been happy, joyous & free. She attributes this greatly to her yoga and meditation practice. Gretchen is passionate about giving that same gift to others that are struggling to find peace. From mortgage banker to mindfulness movement maker, she considers yoga & meditation a miracle worker & encourages everyone to give it a try.

Fitness Coach

As a former coach in the National Football League for 11 years, as well as an extensive tenure of 18 years as an assistant coach at the major college level, Carl Hargrave coached three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, originally joining Head Coach Dennis Green’s staff as an Offensive Consultant in 2004. In 2005, Hargraves contributions helped the Cardinals’ finish the season with the 8^th-ranked overall offense in the NFL, and the #1 passing offense (4,437 yards/277.3 yards per game) for the first time in team history.

Prior to his tenure with the Cardinals, Hargrave was an assistant with the Minnesota Vikings from 1994-2001, and worked primarily with the running backs. In his eight seasons in Minnesota, the Vikings compiled a 77-51 record, made six playoff appearances, won three NFC Central titles, and twice advanced to the NFC Championship Game. During Hargrave’s stint with the Vikings, the 1998 team set the NFL scoring record with 2,563 points, a record that stood for ten seasons until then Super Bowl Champion New England eclipsed that mark in 2008. Additionally, the Vikings offense set a league record for team rushing in 2000 with 2,565 yards which still exists today. Hargrave coached in two Pro Bowls, where he tutored some of the great running backs in the NFL at that juncture. This list includes his own Minnesota Viking Robert Smith, Dallas Cowboy Hall-Of-Famer Emmitt Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Mike Alstott, and Atlanta Falcon Jamal Anderson.

Hargrave has been a vital component in the lives of numerous student athletes, having coached at the college level. With successful stints at Northwestern University, The University of Pittsburgh, The University of Houston and The University of Iowa, Hargrave balanced the delicate scales of athletic involvement with the priority of education. “Football is a career, education is for life,” says Hargrave. One of the proudest moments in Hargrave’s career involved witnessing one of his college understudy’s, Andre Ware, win the Heisman Trophy while at the University of Houston in 1989. During Hargrave’s stretch with the Cougars, the school set 88 individual NCAA offensive records along with 36 team NCAA marks.

Hargrave was a four-time All-Iowa Conference selection as a Safety at Upper Iowa University from 1974-1976. Hargrave enjoyed a stellar playing career in college, and the effort culminated in being drafted by the Super Bowl Champion Oakland Raiders in 1976.

Currently vetted in the Recovery Community, Carl is Owner/Coach of “Fit Four Recovery” addressing the fitness component at various Recovery Centers valley wide, where his passion for coaching has evolved from the playing field to the field of life. “I love the energy and the excitement in helping a person who has lost all hope to find a new life in sobriety.” Carl is an intricate part of the men and women whose lives are mired in the pains of addiction, encompassing all levels and ages.

“Coach Carl” is a sought-after motivational speaker who embraces his gifts to encourage, engage, and educate, empowering those around him to achieve excellence.
