Outpatient Treatment (OP)

Continuum Recovery Center of Colorado is the leader in outpatient treatment for those suffering from the disease of addiction.

Our Denver outpatient treatment programs are perfect for clients whose addictions are less severe and who are very committed to their recovery. Typically, this is another step down from PHP and IOP programs. The outpatient drug rehab may require two days of group therapy on-site provides the right amount of support. This allows a client the time needed to maintain employment and balance a busy lifestyle while living at home.

As needs change, so too do the recommended steps making every journey toward sobriety, no matter the timeline, a successful approach.

If you caught the addiction early enough and are willing to address them promptly and thoroughly, this level of care might be perfect for you.

Our Denver Outpatient Treatment programs Include:

Group Therapy

Clients learn to express themselves and engage with others who have been where they are and can relate to the same life struggles. Through this like-mindedness, friendships and trust grow, providing a safe space to deal with emotions. In addition, the interaction empowers participants by encouraging them to offer assistance, provide feedback, or challenge other group members in a loving yet accountable environment.

Recovery Engagement

Many of us believe the false narrative that we can’t have fun sober. In this group, we challenge that narrative and share ways to connect to support and have fun! Recovery Engagement is an interactive group focused on helping clients connect to wellness outside of standard treatment. This group is lead by a Peer Coach, we honor all pathways to recovery and share resources to enhance social connections and support a fun and healthy life.

Life Skills

Life skills are a general outpatient group that can be attended via zoom or in person. This group focuses on time management, financial management, setting schedules, and realistic goal setting. Life Skills provides a safe place for clients to practice these skills, where they can receive input and ideas from other members and provide supportive feedback in turn.

Relapse Prevention

The Relapse Prevention group is can be attended via zoom or in person. The group is a reformulated cognitive-behavioral model of relapse and helps the development of mindfulness-based relapse prevention strategies. Rather than being viewed as a state or ending point of failure, relapse is considered a process that begins prior to and extends beyond the return to the target behavior. We explore 3 areas: reducing relapse and its severity; enhancing the durability of treatment gains; and matching prevention strategies to each client’s characteristics and lifestyles.

David versus Goliath

David and Goliath is a men’s group focused on anxiety, stress, and trauma. Using “bottom-up” therapy, DBT, EMDR, Tai Chi, and Drumming, we create a safe place to assist men in understanding and using their emotional brain to address distress, anxiety, and relationships to create and manage a more effective life.

Women Healing Women

Women Healing Women is an outpatient, invite-only, all-female group. It emphasizes empowerment and ways that women can support and build each other up. We’ll focus on the unique experiences that women face, including societal pressures and expectations, social stigma, gender roles, and expectations for body image. It’s a safe and non-judgmental environment in which we discuss and heal issues related to trauma, relationships, body image, mental illness, and self-esteem.

Individual Therapy

Our credentialed and experienced mental health practitioners will spend one-on-one time with each client, adjusting treatment plans according to patient progress and duration of substance abuse. Individual therapy is essential for uncovering the root of addictive behaviors and providing a general emotional health assessment.

Individual individual therapy includes:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Proven to be an effective tool in the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions, CBT utilizes positive thought patterns, attitudes, and beliefs about oneself to transform unhealthy behaviors. The foundation of this treatment method has been developed and perfected by some of the greatest minds in psychology, and its merits continue to shine in those we treat.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Communication is a productive tool during the addiction recovery process. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy uses communication, by integrating opposing viewpoints into a person’s mental programming. When a therapist presents the opposite of what the client is thinking, it helps retrain the person’s mind and educate on how to reach different goals in a healthier manner.

Outpatient Treatment Job Programs

As an outpatient rehabilitation program, our recovery services support clients with various resources to help them achieve success in the real world. Our job services assist clients in finding their purpose in the community, whether it’s returning to their previous job, starting a new career or volunteering at a nonprofit organization. Our experienced staff can also assist with criminal charges, unresolved court issues, debt and getting back into school.

Skills Developed in Outpatient Treatment:

  • Mindfulness – You’ll learn to be fully aware of the present moment, which is helpful because many people with an addiction regret the past and fear the future.
  • Distress Tolerance – You’ll learn how to tolerate a painful situation rather than try to run from it or cover it up with substance abuse.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness – You’ll develop self-respect and self-confidence while learning how to manage relationships with friends, family and others.
  • Emotion Regulation – You’ll understand how to deal with negative emotions, develop mental balance and discover healthy perspectives that will make you happier, healthier, and whole.
