Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Program in Denver, Colorado

The path to recovery is rarely a straight line and everyone has a unique experience. Because addiction is a complex mental health disorder, the level of therapy needs to be tailored to your individual needs. Fortunately, our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) in Denver, Colorado can help individuals reclaim and rediscover the possibilities of their lives.

An Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP, is an effective approach to treating substance abuse disorders which is what we offer here in Denver, Colorado. IOP is normally a “step-down” from Comprehensive Day Treatment and is either 3 or 5 days a week and can be used after a successful detox, as a primary treatment program, or as part of an aftercare plan.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Denver, Colorado will help you heal and successfully overcome your addiction (which means re-evaluating and challenging your thoughts, beliefs, and actions).  Our goal is to help you regain control of your life, and our proven therapies are the ideal means to get there.

What Is IOP?

As with all our programs, our treatment team will undertake an extensive psychological and diagnostic case history, and create an individualized plan that works for you.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Denver at Continuum Recovery Center will include:

  • Mental Health Disorder Assessment
  • Behavioral Health Assessment
  • Substance Abuse and Dependency(s) Assessment
  • Group Therapy
  • Individual Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Continuing Care with Life Skills Education and Training
  • Meditation
  • Yoga
  • Nutrition
  • And more

Our Colorado IOP clients learn important real-world skills that will set them up for success in sobriety. Understanding how life stress affects their emotional and physical wellbeing, clients are better able to identify the people, places, and thought patterns that increase their risk for relapse.

Who is a Candidate for IOP?

Our intensive outpatient program is an excellent choice for professional treatment. It caters to those who do not require the same level of structure and attention that is provided in inpatient treatment. However it does provide more for their treatment than what traditional outpatient programs provide. It is a solid, middle-of-the-road option for addiction treatment and is most beneficial for those individuals who:

  • Have completed inpatient treatment and require a step-down as they transition out of treatment
  • Have a moderate substance use disorder
  • Are not physically dependent on drugs or alcohol
  • Can maintain their lives outside of treatment, as they do not live at the facility
  • Are able to get to and from the facility on their own
  • Are able to commit a large portion of their time to their treatment

Our Outpatient Drug Rehab Program is the ideal option for individuals experiencing any of these situations. Keep in mind that if you do not fit into one of the descriptions above, that does not mean that IOP isn’t right for you. When making the decision to get treatment, speak to a professional who can help guide you in the right direction.

Benefits of IOP

IOP’s are their own breed of treatment, which is great for several reasons. Not only does an IOP reach millions of people who don’t need residential care but who need more care than outpatient programming, it also greatly benefits those involved. Some of the benefits of attending our IOP Colorado include the following:

  • Clients can continue living at home while they obtain treatment, allowing them the comfort of their own space
  • It is possible for clients to keep working or begin working while also receiving treatment, allowing for financial independence and a sense of purpose
  • Clients can spend time with friends, family, and loved ones who support them on their journey
  • Clients can attend local support groups meetings, such as Denver AA or NA, to further the progress they are making in treatment

What Happens At Our Denver Intensive Outpatient Program?

Our Outpatient Drug Rehab program focuses on providing all individuals with the level of care that they need in order to accomplish their recovery goals. While every client has their own treatment plan, all clients participate in individual therapy sessions. Clients will also participate in group counseling sessions. Some clients may engage in several others types of evidence-based therapies that are more suited for their treatment needs. These therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma therapy, and more.

IOP’s often run anywhere from six to eight weeks in length. They require individuals to devote much of their time to the program. This means that they will be unable to uphold a full-time job during their treatment, but can potentially hold a part-time job. Our IOP is designed to be a prominent presence in your life.
